So we had a bit of tough love last night. We finally broke down and tried CIO, I have to admit it was so tough to hear my sweet baby boy crying and screaming for me or his daddy to come in and get him, but we would only go in and comfort him for a bit and then leave the room. Thank goodness his crying only lasted 40 mins. I hear of some lasting an hour or 2. Its something we had to do, and decided to do it yesterday, I've been trying to get Jonathan to support me on this and he really didn't want to do it, and just gave me no support on it, well we had a really bad night Tuesday and none of us got any sleep, so yesterday Big Jonathan was asking me all kinds of questions about this CIO method I had been reading about, I'm so glad I had been reading it for a couple weeks, b/c I had enough knowledge to let him know what we are doing, and why we need to do it. Its not easy at all to sit and listen to him cry, but I know this is going to be better for all 3 of us. He woke up again at 12:45, so I fed him 3 oz then put him back down to fall asleep by himself, it was not easy, it was like starting all over again, but I had prepared my self for this time to come, as I know him, and he has to wake up to eat, we are going to work on that as well, but we need to take it one lesson at a time. He cried for about 20 mins, and then fell asleep. he woke up for the day close to 6 and I felt pretty rested. Me and big J thought he was going to wake up mad at us, and not happy, but he was the most happy baby when he woke up!! the bags under his eyes are improving. There is not need for a 7 month old to have bags like that.
I could not have done it without the support of my internet friends, my friend Sandi, and Big Jonathan!!!
